attenuate : two

[ Poet’s Note : Companion Poem to
attenuate: Aug 26 ]

her gracile cancer ridden body disturbed soul shores, re-assimilating into ether
simultaneously
embodied light attenuated as rain sleets soaked washing trauma embedded
molecules —

shattered dreams attenuated floorboards, oregons shivering sunlight through colourful veils
meanwhile
gracile human pendants attenuated threads of Leo’s mane, gently swaying in cool breeze

…

grey matter spilled into hot black and white hands
healing —
blue veins attenuated
their hair one corn, one wavy
lips grim thick and thin
    clothed in hospital tunics
       spaceship hovered silver sleek
           cancer attenuated —

I am always fascinated how a poet relates to such circumstances and treats words so meaningfully and delicately as you have. An eloquent contribution, Ghairo.

You wrote a very emotive poem on this theme, Ghairo. My recent stays in ER made me appreciate how fleeting life is and to savour every moment at our disposal. PS Thanks also for your lovely contest entry. Su x

ThkU for read & comment, Su ~ I’m sorry to hear you were in ER - I somehow always think of you as “strong & invincible”, though as our bodies age, this can no longer apply. Sob. Take good care of yourself > Your Presence is much needed on Earth. Sending Love. 😊
