Ataraxis
Beset it seems on every side
Invasions perturbations in our lives
By order or by decree
Or by slight of propaganda
These troublesome entries are constantly knocking
And the no escape from it comes a mongering
Some demand made of sanity
A madness to strain our credulity
Were you sitting there quite comfortably
Contemplating silence's captivity
Captivated yourself by its rest
But every morning to hit the ground running
Crisis disasters of disasters crisis
This daily threat of sunrise
Pours its sleepless night into our eyes
Not a moment left for peace of mind
Confusions deception
On mass the fear filled information
We swim through the murk of this menacing cauldron
Afraid for ourselves alarmed for our children
These unknown shadows lurk behind
Our every effort to gain a little peace
No space for peace
No peace of mind
No chance to live in peaceful lives
Ever the next agenda turns a new blind alley corner
Always the next bill demands its paying
Forever the following threat to dog your already crooked steps
Still somewhere in the world injustice is reigning
And we know people like us are suffering and dying
We feel the tragedy
So abhorrent the degredation can only be
Leaves its anguish in our souls
We have no other story
Only dreams and hopes of a life
Lived in the peace we seek
And how much happier we all could be
If the snarling hounds of a deviant ideology
Hadn't stolen every second of ataraxis
