At the Threshold of a New Year

I can think of 365 ways
I could have strayed
within the past 365 days.
But the Lord has carried me here
to the threshold of a new year
And as I look Beyond I could see peace and War.
I can see the Gates of Heaven and I can see the devil at my door.
Yes the mighty adversary who seeks to destroy, kill and steal.
So throw on your holy armor and seek to do God's will.
For there's going to be a battle unlike the world has ever seen
you thought last year was bad wait until 2017.
Oh mama I'm not trying to scare you
and brother believe me I'm just trying to prepare you
for the time is now to kneel
next to the sword you wield
and pray for strength for the devil is about to step upon the battlefield.
For he is the great accuser,
the soul abuser.
He went against God
And became a notorious loser.
He bullies through shame.
Pain is his game.
His dice are the wicked
Who justify his name.
For those who don't care
Their souls are fair share,
But the word is your sword,
And the holy spirit is the armor
You bear.
So now the playing field is level
As you prepare to rumble with the devil,
but don't be discouraged from what
your battle has disheveled.
Because when all is said and done
with one move to determine who won.
The devil will say "just look at all your past sins"
But God will say "just look at my son.."
for he gave you 365 ways
for each of the 365 days
of every year
to never give up and to never fear.
