At the End of the Road

At the end of the road
you will find nothing
but yourself looking at you
behind the years you missed.

At the end of the road 
you will search for the friends 
you have never cared about.

At the end of the road you will 
be lost in a small path, 
asking for somebody
to show you the road to walk through.

At the end of the road
you will meet you with yourself, 
walking lost on an empty road
without any support.

The picture you’ve chosen is perfect to accompany your words full of wisdom and indeed a warning of just how much life could be lonely and precious things that could be lost if you don’t open your heart to others.
