At Heaven's Gate

      a prominent squirrel
       once eschewed a gift
         from a poor chipmunk

      meeting again at heaven’s gate
        the chipmunk, once eschewed
          was let right through

good one! I'm remembering that Twilight Zone where the devil tries to pass Hell off as Heaven to a coon hunter and his dog, but the dog is too smart, and the hunter knows it can't really be heaven, because they don't allow dogs.

Going back to a previous write of yours, a few days ago -- see, I pay attention. You have lasting worth and impact here. Not to accept a gift (reaching out for help, same in a sense), insults the giver, and injures one's own soul. Reciprocity is so important to spiritual health.
