I will not have a carved tombstone; the wind will carry me. I've stayed in one place long enough; one place, one form, one old tome. I will not lie beneath the soil, and compost for you see; I've stayed in one place one enough on the wayward wind I'll be. Astral ash, silvered cinders, see the hills crest, the vale deep, the tallest pines won't be enough; snowcovered peaks; be my home. The jungles deep will shelter me in flowers rouge, I'll roil. I've stayed in one place long enough. I'll ride rapids to the sea. Not in a crypt, nor box, nor vase none of them for I decree; I've stayed in one place long enough the brash wind will carry me. * Dedicated to Andie & Fredrick for the inspiration.

Terrific read Debbie. Me, I want to be like the Kansas track 'Dust in the Wind' - James :)

I love a poem that is able to provide points for discussion; we all have a choice (while we're still alive!), but finally it all depends on others. Flying with the winds gives such a liberating feeling...a true sense of freedom. // paul

Ahhh Deb !! As I said before, this poem generates many thoughts, and while many people differ on what is right for them...it speaks to what I would want. We should both print this out and send to all our loved ones!! :) While I'm here again, I'm extremely proud and pleased that you liked my poem for your contest! What a lovely way to brighten my day! Thank you so much!!

well not that we have any choice at that point in regard to whether they listen to us BUT at least they won't be able to say we didn't tell them!
