Aster of September, summer wanes. The shining sky of dusk is drenched in splendor. Tremulously, I watch shadows that arrive. Too soon, they purloin sun’s last rays. Aster of September, Virgo aches. You bloom till your breath is snatched away.

Once the Aster star flower wanes we know winter's on its way. Nice one Andrea.

This is so sad, but it's beautifully so. Sort of haunted by it...

The change of season is wonderful to watch and feel. Sometimes we want to hold on to summer just a little longer. Hope you are well, and thank you for sharing...

Now confront the mailman with a late arrival and watch him burst into flame! [If I may suggest: '. . . til your breath is borne away'.]

Beautiful poetry: "You bloom till your breath is snatched away." Deeply emotive. I keep trying.

Sad that Aster's breath gets snatched away. I enjoyed reading this one. I don't think that I have ever tried to grow asters. Sara K
