Written for the contest wit the theme ‘Asp’.

Asp or aspis refers to a venomous snake (plural aspides). Also to a wooden shield held to protect from an enemy’s weapon. Like the scales of a snake covering the eye when needed.

Cleopatra is said to have killed herself with snake poison.

Aesculapius (Greek God of medicine) symbolizes healing (a snake coiled around a rod).

Antoine de ‘Exupery’, the writer of the Little Prince had always wanted to fly, even as a little child and became a pilot for he French mail service and later in employ of the resistance movement in WWII. He crashed over France and died in mysterious circumstances.

The drawing of a hat versus an boa constrictor swallowing an elephant is too well known to dissect. Rose in the story has the meaning of beauty in smallness, but was also Exupery’s lover and wife.

Aspiration Antoine had crashed once again when tempting the desert Freedom fighter laureate poet daredevil testing the call of ~ Poisonous Times ~ A mysterious man and rebellious philosopher with script on his tongue ink on soft paper Rose in his heart and yearning for ~ Cleopatra’s Eyes ~ A snake of fertile creation and healing never far from his pen Aesculapius in coil had mutated to SS wound around torches’ ~ Venomous Bite ~ Aspides’s toxic fangs a spitting image of denial with thick scales covering eyes of horned vipers hiding or shielding from attack ~ Dependent on Choice ~ The piloting scribe aspired towards kind compassionate words As the elephant was swallowed by a boa constrictor clothed in a sad ~ Hatter’s Distortion ~ Antoine got killed on reconnaissance’s flight over France shot down or by just letting go of throttle and misery but the Little Prince and his ~ Wisdom Remains ~ Avoiding slithering hisses in what remains of paradise an auspice of sloughing what needs to be shed emerged from warrior’s asps in ~ Blossoming Hope ~ When threatened by serpent’s pitiless pits with no parachute attached Peace can be found and acrimonious asperity relieved one small step in ~ Narration and Truth ~ 29th April 2018

Superb write, Kai, just superb ... you are a master craftsman, but you also do your homework, and do not spout on things that you don't have a firm grasp of ... those are special tools that few people possess with credulity and integral application. This is being fav-ed for sure, and read a few times. Excellent, my friend, I am never disappointed with your work. Blessings! :-)

I'm so sorry, Kai, I have been there, literally, and it is not an enviable place to be. I pray everything turned out alright and that there is sunlight on the horizon. I was blessed to have my teenager survive that period and become an amazing young woman, but there were some rough nights. You and yours are in my prayers, Friend, and I am always available via Soup Mail. <3

Thanks you for your praise. And your blessings. I appreciate them. After a night with a self-harming teenager, the blessings are far more important than one could think...Thank you again, Kai
