As They Leave (3)
As they leave,
They leave in the illusion of paraphernalia of office
Indeed they lived in the last five years as if not
To leave again, forgetting that time waits for no man
Nobody has ever lived and refuse to leave when the
Time to leave came beckoning
They leave for nowhere but only to be
Confined to the dustbin of history.
As they leave,
They leave without honour,
Trailing the shadows of their predecessors:
Onorkhaire of UNIBEN
Oyeneye of OOU
Waje Omole of OAU
Oba Abdulraham and Amali of UNILORIN
And others who had the privilege of writing
Their names in the golden black book of history
Their deeds remain frightfully indelible in our memories
Never mind, as an Ifa priest with fierce-fiery orders and decrees
Your space is guaranteed in the golden black book already
As you and your cohorts, the Oguns, the Ofis, the Akins
The Mojis and the Jayis of this world,
Ingloriously leave the stage on September 25th ,2005
And for those that are coming, taking the mantle of leadership
Clearly crystal you can see their account as they leave
So, as you will come, live and leave,
What do you want to live and be remembered for ?
The choice are unlimited …….
The choice…. are un..limi..ted !!
