The Whiskey Taster’s Flavor Guide

As the Smoke Lifts

disillusionment gathers
like an incoming storm
with impending doom

rainless clouds
become the reigns
of the thunderous rage
toppling statues like trees
along paved walks
where peace one gathered
flags now burn upon the grounds
and those that fought to protect
lie unearthed within the fury
as headstones tumble
like dominos downward

common grounds become trampled
battlegrounds now redrawn
as the world looks onward
through the haze of destruction
awaiting the smoke to lift

yet the storm
rages on
unscathed

I can see the multitude of ghost looking on, scratching their heads...who are the barbarians. This is not what peace looks like. Great imagery.

Thank you Kim... this is just crazy, we cannot erase the past no matter how hard we try...this is all history, things that happened 200-400 years ago...to see all the destruction just overwhelms me... hugs

So sad to see Sandra, I understand how folk are angry but history is done, we can't change it. It's time to move on showing respect for one another. Hope you're well Tom

one cannot rewrite history... to attack something that happened 200-600 years ago is crazy... and they want people to pay for the past...I did not do this wrong no more than you did... they did not live through it no more than any of us... all we can do is learn from the past and not allow the same mistakes... to destroy countries is just crazy... hugs
