As the Nights Pass

"AS THE NIGHTS PASS"

as the nights bring
our reality into view,
you can't help being
proud that life has
repeated as you knew
it always would.
some call this arrogance,
I call it experience.
your day is the visual
abundance, the nights
are the abundance of
thoughts.
the only light that can
ever shine, is the face
that lights our darkness
after our day of routine.
finding love is easy,
recognizing the truth
in real love is the trial.
as the sound of Gould
comes through my
headphones, the night
carries on.
leaning against this wall,
watching the children
of the city play,
you see the repetition is
repetitious and you know,
the best is yet to come.
