As the Child Watches On
Today I am lost for words
Horrified at recent behavior
Your anger with bile uncensored
As the child watches on
Today I am sad at myself
For my lack of motivation
To end all of this madness
As the child watches on
Today I am feeling lonely
Though alone is what I crave
My face is now hangdog
As the child watches on
Today I am not present
I have withdrawn to re group
There is no part of me open
As the child watches on
Today I am feeling anxious
At change I know must come
Somewhere there is spirit inside me
As the child watches on
