As I Lay Down

Thoughts racing through my mind As I lay down to sleep at night Playing through the events of my life Darkened shadows dance on my wall Dreams have no fast forward or rewind Trying my best to not sleep, but slowly losing the fight The pain in my heart as sharp as a knife Holding on, hoping not to fall Where did my mind lose my soul? Searching for answers I do not know. Lost in my own confusion and pain. Emotions suppressed causing strain. Somewhere my heart, soul and mind will meet. Once again to find their peace. As I lay down to sleep at night. I cannot help but wonder, where I'm going to I can see and feel where I have been. Which causes so much fright. At the crossroads of my life, not knowing what to do. My head in a downspin. ………As I lay down to sleep.
