As Good As Your Attitude

I played sport with a boy my own age, his older brother was talented in an obvious way, He saw his brother thought that’ll be me one day, he grew up to be someone who couldn’t play I used to hear stories of my brothers successes 8 years between us always at different stages but I used to think I’ll grow up better than you and since we’re far a part all I can do is improve He won one county cup and a player award I won one county cup and two player awards but I played in two finals he only played one He won at the cricket but it had already been done We won at the football and it had never been won took us into the Nationals against champions Pushing the boundaries in the way we compete at the time the best team to come out the city I won the award for the most improved player Because unlike my friend I knew I had to get better But I also played cricket as a summer time sport And we reached the semi finals but sadly fell short I was player of the year labelled the prodigy my friend was the prima donna and lacking the quality I guess the point is never take things for granted You have to keep working to gain the advantage. How good you become is a reflection of attitude, There’s always more to do and all you can do is improve
