Karen Jones Poet Rhyme

As California Burns

Fire starter using flame
To burn kill destroy lame 
What is your end game
To make money to gain

California she suffers so
Set ablaze her forests glow
People steeples burning red
Hard to watch tears are shed

What is the reason or cause
Arson or accident or natures fault 
Too many questions strange to see
Insurance cancelled those policies 

God help California prevail
As we watch these fires from hell
May the truth be a breeze with sail
Blowing in peace where water fails

Gershon Wolf January 16, 2025 at 8:02 PM I really think that whatever the trigger was, if leaving dry, brittle brush on the ground -- instead of clearing it away, as common sense dictates -- hadn't become a 'thing' among the environmentalist elite, the fires would have been contained a lot faster, even with those banshee winds. Duke Beaufort January 16, 2025 at 9:16 AM Karen, you highlight very well that these fires will cause much suffering. There's a lot to learn from this as you point out. If we allow investigators and scientists to do their job, we could fashion policies and provide funding that makes us a better custodian and subject of Mother Nature. This is a small indication of how powerful she is and how small we really are. We should be very careful going forward in order to avoid her wrath....but do people get it? Karen Jones January 16, 2025 at 11:59 AM Not everyone gets it. The sad thing is the insurance companies dropped coverage and suspiciously so close to the tragedies. If there was any ill will or arson planned we may never know for sure. Sad all around. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

I have a handful of relatives living in the LA area and they are terrified at what is happening. We have seen a number of amazing people who are trying their best to contain this blaze. I pray for God's intervention to bring this to a close and help the people who have lost everything. A Fav!! Valsa George January 15, 2025 at 8:44 PM All are so much concerned about this fire, still not extinguished. We do not know the reason. It could be treason or just a natural calamity. However the victims of this tragedy causes chocking pain in all the peace loving people. May God comfort the victims. Let us pray this will not spread to other areas and soon will be under control.
