Dear Summer’s done and early.
As autumn breeze is coming,
its breath of coolness brushes on the cheek.
Our friend, the sun, is hiding,
and rain outside is strumming
a lullaby that leaves us feeling bleak.
Though charming be fall season,
the dark is sooner crawling.
Jack Frost arrives to help the days grow cold.
And then one crystal morning,
the snow flakes will be falling,
and vanished be all trace of days of gold.
The autumn breeze turns into
a blizzard we’ll be hating.
Too frigid is the air for us to take.
But kids will brave the weather,
don mittens, and go skating
with merriment upon the frozen lake.
