artic somersaults

arctic colors bluster
 gossamer rainbow ripples ~
  northern lights fanfare

north winds of daybreak
 electric neon highlights ~
  polar bears snoring

pink and green streaks flash
 watermelon auroras ~
  iceberg skyscrapers

auroras fox trot
 light in staccato steps ~
  high stepping brilliance

tundra skies blush
 frozen lights do somersaults ~
  polar breaths glow

Hello Sam. Your entry is timely as we are experiencing artic elements as we speak. Climates everywhere have changed going through cold spells. Where I sit it is 17 degrees with it feeling like 9 and tomorrow the negative digits. Your execution of the haiku suite is marvelous executed wonderfully including voice tone and imagery with a perfect title to which you did not stray. Thank you for sharing your skilled poetic talent. These are so breath taking, Sam, my favorite one is the fourth stanza, but also like 'iceberg skyscrapers' and 'polar breaths glow' - you have got the beauty of the great white north in your verses~

Ah this is the second northern lights poem im reading today. Gosh how i wish i can see northern lights, its definitely in my bucket list , and i absolutely love how descriptive this poem is. Every line shows me magical skylines of fleeting and swirling rainbow hued northern lights.i love especially “ gossamer rainbow ripples” “electric neon highlights” “ watermelon auroras” and last lines too! Profound! And artistic is the fitting title for this definitely! Pleasure always reading you.
