April Glowers

this endless rain
pains
like an idle
pent up *****
gnawing away at sanity
grinding nerves
into digestible bits
this
this is not
nourishment

I thoroughly enjoyed this, but your poem is even better read out loud. By the way, Maureen, I wished for the sun, which finally came, and with it endless lawn work (: Amitiés

I can see that, as how my face contorts reciting it in my own mind, grinding it out ;) A labour of love your garden is I am sure; my wish is for sun and countless birds. xomo!

Hello Maureen. You have me laughing and smiling with this expressive and powerful entry. Your words are clear. And yes, enough already with all this dampness that goes right to our bodies and minds. Can I second your thoughts. I found this creatively well stated.

Tee hee, thanks! Bits of sun poking through today but more rain and flood warnings for tomorrow; that said, I'll be doing the rain dance when the draughts hit ;) xomo!

They say, April showers bring May flowers" At least that is what I heard. But I do know how rain can really dampen one's mood. Nicely screamed my friend.

Think about August and how you might wish for rain, that might make it better... good one Maureen

Oh Charlie, you are one of those always looking on the bright side of life aren't you, I must say I am too, but that half empty glass sure makes for good poetry ;) xomo!
