Apricot Morning Something For Which To Be Thankful

Giant basket of apricots rising Scattering its contents across the east Revealing frosty dried autumn leaves Used as mulch to make plants feast Light ice upon the birdbath Birds will have ice water to drink A chilled bath this morning Will make everything shrink The chorus of the songbirds Singing my favorite tunes I love what they've orchestrated They're my missing link All winter there was mostly silence Now the love birds are singing again Thank you, God for the magic On You I can depend

"The chorus of the songbirds Singing my favorite tunes I love what they've orchestrated They're my missing link" - I too love this chorus of birds. They are indeed a connecting link between man and nature. Lovely poem, dear.

Thank you, Valsa. Sometimes I get some inspiration by a short visit out on the porch. I am sure it was too cold to stay out there very long. Sara K

Interesting rhyme scheme! I love the analogies and the words you used. I do miss fall, though I'm glad it's almost summer. The image is beautiful, by the way! Did you take it yourself? Good work!!!!

Thank you, Reya. Awesome you found it an interesting rhyme scheme and that you liked the analogies. Thanks for the visit and the kind review. No, I did not take the snapshot. It was from the internet. I tried to find a snapshot that matched up with what I saw that morning, but it is never quite the same as what I am seeing. Sara K

Yes, it is nice to open the door for the dog to go out and hear the birds in the trees singing once again, David. I appreciate the nice review of my work, and the time spent here. Sara K

Life has its ups and downs. But as Jesus said, my burden is light. Lovely imagery.

Victor, sometimes things seem heavy, but it is because we have not let Him carry the burden for us. Thanks for stopping by and the nice comment. Sara K

I am honored that you would fav this one, Andrea. I enjoyed writing it. It was a beautiful sunrise after two days of clouds and rain. Sara K
