Approaching My Day

"Each day we consider,
Most things that matter

Like; dress and eat,
Appointments to keep

Some days we only memorize,
Not wanting to analyze

The bigger questions before us,
Procrastinating they are superfluous

To avoid conflict that might arise,
Or hearing an answer that would surprise

But if we are willing to expand,
Our thinking to understand
Beyond the rituals of our day,
What part imagination can play

We would soar with the eagles,
Be a king or a queen without equal

Imagined we had found buried treasure,
Help lost souls come together

Or lighten our load,
Where all negatives are stored

To be free to follow our dreams,
Because imagination is its first seed

Of that goal we want for ourselves,
Nurtured by motivation that compels

Us to think, therefore I am,
Believing that you can"
