Appreciation Magnified

I received a gift yesterday It came in the form of words Still it was so much more From a friend A woman I have never met Who has taken the time to know My thoughts My heart she has gone beyond the obvious Read my synapses My mind sparking across many pages Understanding Thinking my thoughts Feeling my pain Laughing at my jokes Clever comments exchanged Mutual appreciation I read her poems I have felt where the sadness lies I have been carried by her joy The triumphs of her soul This is the place that kindness lives I call her friend This woman I have not met Yet I feel that I know I am thankful I respond In the best way I know how With my words That are more than words I place a gem in her hand Ask her to hold it in front of her eyes Magically I hope It will magnify my thankful smile. In appreciation of my friend Becca

Thanks Richard, for line 22 - "this is the place that kindness lives" - it inspires. True, kindness is not a cloud in the sky, it breaths, it is not unreachable, it has an address. it is accessible, it has inviting sign posts of massaging words, empathetic looks, charming smiles, and attractive offerings. No body remembers anybody for what they did for themselves. people remember people for what they did for others. that is the prize from kindness - immortality.

You speak wise and you speak well. It's intresting how someone can write some words and you pick up on the essence of them. You sir I like instantly! Thanks for commenting you are welcome in my home of words at any time. I felt the same about my friend Timothy below, check out his poems as well.

You guys seem to have quite the friendship! It's amazing to me how close you can feel to someone through the exchanging of poetry and comments... even with the ones you've never met. The gem image at the last was a very sweet touch.

It's really nice to get to know the more "open" people on the site :) To get inside each other's minds makes browsing the boards all the more fun and interesting...

Hi Tim I was just heading over to see you, you beat me to it. Although I have just made your acquaintance I feel a meeting of the minds as well. Through words, age time space and culture can be breached. I am enjoying getting to know you. Thanks for all the visits. I have also enjoyed some of the comments you have written to other poets.
