Appreciation

I am really surprised at how much
You've helped me figure out my life
After all these missing years it's like
You just fit right in where so many fell out
You helped me get over the love of one who
Walked all over me, tried to change where I stand
We both lost trust in the people we loved
Then after years we met up and it
Felt like you had never been gone
Like you've always just belonged
I cried to you when I had to have surgery
I whined to you when things were hard
You helped me through, without judgment, no harsh words
You are a life saver, i'm so glad you are near
I think I owe my sanity to you this time
I've gone through things not even this bad before
And I've got the scars, proof I lost my mind
But now I've officially closed that door, I hope
Thank you for all that you've done for me
From somebody who never says I love you
I want you to know that I do and I care
