Apocalyptic Fury

Lest the moon tip over and spill the blood, With apocalyptic fury signaling the climax In history as in the days of old Noah’s flood, When the earth resettles like paraffin wax, Forming new boundaries in the land and sea With apocalyptic fury signaling the climax, People of every nation will hopelessly flee Before the great and terrible day of the Lord Forming new boundaries in the land and sea. Rising from below comes the thundering horde Incredibly horrific creatures before unknown Before the great and terrible day of the Lord. Humanity never again occupying the throne Nor understanding the myriads roaming about, Incredibly horrific creatures before unknown. Comes the archangel with a triumphal shout, Lest the moon tip over and spill the blood, Nor understanding the myriads roaming about In history as in the days of old Noah’s flood.

Ah, Caren, don't ever be afraid. Keep in mind that "He's got the whole world in His hands." You and me, too.

Cant comment, Milt. I’m too busy putting my head between my knees to kiss my ass goodbye. ;-) Can’t help but wonder which of the beasts would adopt Man’s crown were your poem to prove prophetic. Thought provoking write. Much enjoyed. Terry

Your words speak much truth Milton. We are on the very edge of his return my friend. I just finished a book that was incredibly insightful. He gives evidence of a time frame through biblical information and gives his version of biblical proof. No man knows the exact date and time but the bible references the times and according to him in his 400 page book thinks that it will be around the year 2008. It is an incredible book to read. I lent it out to a Seven Day Adventist that owns a hardware..

I'm not much into eschatology, Michael, although I had to study it in seminary. I have my own theories about the Revelation to St. John. Because of the diversity of religious beliefs on Poetry Soup, I try to avoid those discussions. This poem is primarily a collection of images that have apocalyptic concerns. It wasn't meant to be anywhere near definitive or creedal. Thanks for your thoughts.

What dark images your lines called to mind. I believe the archangel will lead the way to victory over Satan’s legion, and that no human will sit on the throne. I was impressed with the depth of insight in your thoughts, Milt.

Thank you so much, Jenna. Be sure to read my response to Michael. I'll refer you there rather than to repeat myself.

Indeed, it is, Jeff. I have no idea what prompted it or where it came from. I just had these images and wrote them as I saw them. Not trying to be St. John here. Thanks.
