Another Year Dawns

2019 to 2020,2020 to2021 
Another year has passed by
Time does fly!

Alone to myself I ponder 
Did I really enjoy?
Did i use my time wisely?

Another year closer to death 
What am I doing about it?
Am I amassing heaps of happy moments?
Or just whiling away my time?

My wealth, my relations,  my body will not go with me
Only my good deeds I will carry 
How many did i collect this year

As another year dawns
It is time to make a firm resolve
to forgive all those who were bad
to forget agonies of past
to strive for inner peace and joy
to exercise control over desire, senses and laziness 
to lead a fruitful, blissful life.

A very wise felllow once told me to pick one thing to improve, and then do one-half of what you are thinking you can do. Try that, he said. I've found it to be valuable advice.
