(Old) Note-  My dear friend has had a great lie spread that destroys her virtue.
My lone voice telling others that the guy admitted to me that he lied and my telling others of this has had no impact- the believers want to believe and want to mock her. She being devastated, has considered the unthinkable act.
Those wanting to believe lies never accept truth.
She has moved out of state because one person decided to destroy her reputation. And even truth being brought forth has no impact.

New note: I lost track of her but several years later heard that she had indeed did the unthinkable act. Evil, darkness and wicked souls too oft get by destroying innocent people. Laws protect such people from we that would otherwise deliver justice unto them!
Taken from one of my old private journals, decided that this should see the light of day. Verses edited today, her name removed.
Another Sweet Heart Crushed Another angel lost By Fate's hot burning brand; Cheap was the ghastly cost, unclean the reaping hand. Another vessel broke In life's wicked charade; In blackest of air stoked, misery on parade. Another sweet heart crushed Youthful innocence cut; By rumor verdict rushed, Gossip consuming glut. Another soul cut deep By foulest of black lies; Birthing words cast forth cheap, sent virtue sailing bye. Another day awaits Truth to stir, to be freed; Held back by those that hate, And sow their poison seed. Another death ends all Truth had come forth to bear; Too late stop her sad fall, This dark world had no care. R.J. Thank you my dear friend. The wicked in this world never seem to rest. They seem to live to hurt and cause grievous harm. Too oft lies can travel around the earth, faster than truth can take its first step. I think maybe I have written 5 OR 6 poems with 6 syllables out of the several thousands I have composed in 49 years writing(since age 15).

Surely a very painful thing for her to have experienced and for you to have witnessed. Your pointed write conveyed the dire episode in a very fitting way. Thank you for sharing this, Robert.

Lawrence my dear friend, you got it right. I too, was affected, although mine was extremely minor when compared to hers. Mine was seeing how evil and hateful some people are and how some thought I was lying to protect my friend. My speaking the truth was ignored. A lesson was learned, when truth is not wanted--it is not accepted regardless of its veracity and obvious reality.

My dear friend, the conscious power of your poignant poem tells a deep, sad, but familiar tale of the effects that poisonous gossip can have on the helpless victim.. as your piece depicts people who spread and believe vicious lies are so ruthless and vindictive. Your poetic gem gives a voice to your dearly departed friend on this important issue of hateful behavior. Another heartfelt jewel from your private journals, Robert. Warmest wishes my wonderful friend.. ~Susan

Susan, my dear friend, I am so pleased to see you on here and commenting. Your very insightful analysis and heartfelt reply hits the nail right on the head. Back then it was worse because society at large, as well as certain persons made it a goal to destroy innocent victims of such dark lies. Seems these days, such sordid sexual lies oft brings fame and reputation enhancement in certain circles.
