Another poem about loneliness

I’m so lonesome I could cry Cry for the pup lost from the pack He’s gotta find comfort in winter I’m so lonesome feeling disconnected Cold comfort, but bees have a hive Everything is interconnected I’m so lonesome like Pluto But, the dwarf has moons to comfort Loneliness stretches space and time I’m so lonesome tv is a cheap comfort It’s a Platonic shadow play anyway Better to stare at the wall I’m so lonesome I’m proud of it Let go of tribal feasts and embrace GrubHub Stretch family ties across the globe I’m so lonesome because of tech Amazon will deliver and there is Zoom But, I miss the days by the campfire I’m so lonesome like Mars The god of war needs a moon I tell him he’s a moon to the sun I’m so lonesome I cannot see The invisible ties that bind I remember I am blind to love I’m so lonesome I cannot feel The skin needs an epidermis to hold Yet I touch grass and my cats I’m so lonesome death needs comfort It calls to me for a spot of tea I see you everywhere holding a mug I’m so lonesome it’s lost meaning The voices in my head are giving up Finally, I can be a lone wolf I’m so lonely when no love is home What about those who wait for no one? There the day and night keep us

An eye-opening poetry, Triny! I read it multiple times to grasp it. "I'm so lonesome, it's lost meaning. The voices in my head are giving up", very powerful lines. Seems like you have started understanding the meaning of this life.

I'm humbled by your estimation of me. Giving loneliness a morsel of sweets, I find a brief respite from its incessant hunger. Giving it room full of alphabets, it finds me a poem however penurious. Thank you.

Sometimes when I'm alone I feel deep loneliness then other times when I'm alone I feel calm and peace because I have no one around I can think. Trulely I don't think we are ever alone there is always somewhere out there watching over us, thinking about us, somebody always has us on their minds.

Thank you, Karen. Yes, I do believe no one is truly alone, not as a kind euphemism, but as a reality we are too blinded to see. I think that makes loneliness bearable that we are blind to a greater truth.

It's sad to be lonely. Your poem held my heart to the last line, "What about those who wait for no one? There the day and night keep us". Though the poem is sad, for me, it gave a safe, cocoon atmosphere.

Sometimes I look at a weed growing in the crack of the pavement and wonder how it deals with loneliness. It seems like the day and night are enough comfort.

Thank you for relating to my maudlin efforts. Like love, loneliness is a subject every animal knows, but not well. Oh to be vegetation happy by themselves. The honor is mine to read your poems.

Love this loneliness blues. Specially like theis stanza,"I’m so lonesome because of tech Amazon will deliver and there is Zoom But, I miss the days by the campfire". A real life loneliness in modern world.

Thanks, Jay. In a time of unprecedented wealth in human history, loneliness and depression are also bountiful. It's hard to return to a life of simplicity when all your relations are crowded in a teepee laughing at the bitter cold where no Amazon truck will reach.
