Another Horn To Toot

He can’t see enough of his name in print Seems public notice feeds his narcissism, It’s a shame nobody has given him a hint He feeds on our country’s raw cynicism. Time will come when surely he must realize An insufferable bore he’s turning out to be, He’s not so great as in his very own eyes More and more folks are beginning to see. Primary contests prove he’s not as astute His recommendations are mostly ignored He needs to discover another horn to toot Perhaps become more like Gerald R. Ford! Written March 31, 2022

(chuckling) I really don't do that often, but I get a good kick out of it when I do. Glad you enjoyed the poem.

I really thought you were writing about our 46th President until I read the first comment beneath mine. I imagine that he and #45 would tie for the 'Soporific Prize!' I stopped listening to either of them a looooong time ago. Neither offers viable solutions now; just posturing and virtue signaling. Oh, well. ~ Disenfranchised

Actually, truthfully, I wrote the first two lines about a poet, but it kind of ran away from me. It took on a life of its own. So, I gave birth to it. Oh, well.

I don't think most of us need another hint as to who the idiot is you've described. He's too wrapped up in himself and getting vengeance on those who dared to oppose him that he's lost in his world of make-believe. The only horn he toots is his TRUMPet! As long as he keeps himself in the news, he's fair game. Can't believe he named those who were killed than did his ridiculous imitation of a dance. Unbelievably dense.

Yep, Jenna. He really has a problem! I'm amazed at how many people are still dedicated to him. I couldn't resist. His behavior at the NRA was shameful!

Thanks, Jeff. I wrote the first two lines, thought better of it, then decided to start what I finished. Truthfully, IDT I write that much political stuff, but occasionally I have to show my true colors! (laughing) I can't stand the guy!
