Another Cup of Tea
We’re going on a shopping spree, the wife and I this day,
The only question on my mind ‘how long I need to stay?’
‘Let’s go our separate ways and join up later on’
Is generally the theme, then in a flash she’s gone.
I sneak off for a cuppa, a pot of tea no less,
It helps to pass the time whilst alleviating stress.
Half an hour or so has past, I’ll text to see the score,
But as far as the time goes she’s requested even more.
I pour another cuppa, my third or fourth to date
I’m past the point of worry should this cuppa make me late.
Another text appears ‘how’s it going, I’m not done!’
Cue another cuppa, tho’ my shopping’s not begun.
My problems soon arise as my bladder fails to cope,
When I come back from a leak, is my chair still there I hope?
I’ve paid a call twice, in this last five mins or ten
And oh, my word I can’t believe I need to go again.
Then the text I’ve waited for ‘I’m finished, are you too?’
The answers pretty obvious now my ordeal’s almost through,
Then the text I really dread, with a bladder on the verge,
‘Let’s have a cup of tea!’ She says, as I feel another urge!
