Another Canadian Winter

My window is like a microcosm
Of the great big world out there
Always changing, always in flux
Autumn is in the air

A forerunner of that nasty season
With it's cold and icy winds
Must endure another cruel winter
Icicles dangling from my chin

Would I move to a warmer climate
Should the opportunity arise?
You can bet your sweet bippy I would
In a heartbeat, look into my eyes

Does it look like I'm trying to jazz you
Even reserving a great big kiss
For a P-Soup friend who'll take me in
But it's gotta be warmer than this

I will consider all generous offers
The decision of this judge will be final
Prefer a winner from the opposite sex
Otherwise my offer's unconditional

My window is like a microcosm
Of the great big world out there
Almost forgot to mention the bonus
I've got long flowing flaxen hair!

You've endured many winters, and yet your disposition is still sunny and sweet as ever! Love this one. Always, Laura

Where in Canada are you hiding Jack, nice and sunny on the west coast today, only a little nippy. Nice poem, I would like to run away to Carolyn's if I could

Freelton, Ontario... about 40 miles southwest of Toronto. Richard Lamoureux is a neighbour of yours... next time you see him, say hello for me! LOL Well, it's November 9th and still not a trace of that ugly white stuff... oops, think I just jinxed us! Have a great crisp B.C. day, Francine... love and big warm hugs, Jack

Well if you get no offers to migrate way down south. Just put ole Gordon Lightfoot on if you find your down in the mouth. The Canadian Rockies Railroad can ease a troubled mind. And have a nice cold Molson to ease the daily grind.

Actually met Gordon way back when I was the banjo picker for a group called the Canadiana Folksingers! We shared the stage for a benefit show! M-e-m-o-r-i-e-s!

I've burrowed into my father's House in Phoenix... I highly recommend it. In Missouri the high is in the low 50's and raining for days... To top it off, with me gone... my Hubby is fueding with the cat! Poor Hubby! Those two can get aweful... (My Son's cat we're taking care of while he's in college)

Are you writing from Canada? I have been there but never in the winter. Your words are quite powerful. Peace & Blessings Matthew Anish

Yes, I'm Canadian. With the recent nasty weather just to our south, we've been very fortunate so far. Where are you? Cheers, Jack

Winter's comin' ay? Same here is Pennsylvania. Let's write about summer and the tropics all winter long-that'll keep the cold out of our brains!

Did you get hit with that nasty Nor'easter? Hope you are safe and all is well! Will be starting in about an hour on my poem about the tropics! LOL Love and a big big hug, Jack
