Annapolis Too, Do-be-do-be-do

Glenn Campbell sang of Wichita Trini Lopez of Kansas City Otis Redding crooned of Sausalito, CA Sittin’ on the dock of a bay Chicago was Sinatra’s kind of town He belted out the refrain Guthrie’s ‘City of New Orleans’ Turned out be an Illinois train So why don’t they sing of Annapolis! It rhymes with Minneapolis and Indianapolis And fifty-four astronauts graduated the Naval Academy ~ Updating ‘Anchors Aweigh’ would gladden me

Delightful verse, Gershon! By the way, you called a home run for me - the poem "Ladies Nite at Clyde's Bar" was selected as POTD! Thanks my dear friend! BoB H

Good point, Gershon. My late husband being a Navy veteran, loved the big Army-Navy football game each year. The Naval Academy is such a legacy. Wish I would of had the grades to attend. Oh well. Shalom and have a creative Thursday. :)
