Anguish and Hope

I miss the honking of cars
I miss the cool late night breeze
as we watch the stars
Never thought all of it would seize

we're at war with an enemy from afar
she stops at nothing to see us down
our smiley faces have turned sad
but we shall overcome if we stand our ground

she's swift in crossing boundaries
before we have the time to think
she's here stopping blood in our arteries
sorrow and heartbreak the news bring

the strongest man is now on his knees
In times like this dear Lord your name we call
let this pass over us please
do not let your creation fall

Thanks for sharing this... exposing your thoughts through your unique poetic style. Meanwhile, I greet you with the love of the Lord, expressed by John 3:16 of the Bible, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Be blessed.
