Angst in the night

Worries wake me in the night I hold onto hope like a kite Hoping the string will not break knowing all that is at stake As I seek colors to find gusts of information blow through my mind Can my imagination overcome... where all these worries came from? That stole my tears and blocked my drive to the many things for which I strive Seeking rest, instead I write... as the minutes tick away the night Heidi Sands 1/15/25 (C)opyright

It feels eerily quiet and lonely at night, so I can relate. Writing is quite therapeutic and it makes one set worries aside. Wonderfully composed, Heidi!

It seems like worries can really come out at night. You describe it well. When rest is impossible, then the expression of writing, or reading seem to sometimes help.

Writing often helps when im feeling the way too, dear heidi, this is so impressive how youv used metaphors and descriptive language to express angst and emotions in the most eloquent manner, I especially love the lines “ I hold onto hope like a kite Hoping the string will not break” what a powerful line, should be quoted, and kept close to ones heart, as it resonates and is soulfully moving’ pleasure reading your work today. Sending you light today and always

Sometimes very difficult to turn it off at night I know. Like you, that is when I do a good deal of composing. A relatable write. Well said.
