Angry No More

Up at 5 and on the stadium track by six
So young and wondering why
I believed I must for some strange reason
To run, to leap and to fly

Up at 5 and on the school track by six
High school was the wake up call
Records, trophies, headlines-for what?
Go to college, get a job & raise a family that’s all

Staring into the face of fear, anger and pain
Running until the legs burn and heart ready to burst
I was so angry I did not know what else to do
What was the importance, to be free or to be first

Up at 5 and on track by six
So many lessons learned and feelings laid on the track
I only had to simplify and give it all to Him
He let me experience and knew all along, He had my back

I feel that you are seeing into the future at the many choices in your life and you finally came to your own realization and it gave you peace. There is a lot of emotion in your poem that seems to come from the heart. Good work!
