Angels Without Wings

 
A friend
is a cherry
on top of the cake

A friend
is a jewel
in the crown

A friend
always there
to love and to care
hearing your fears
erasing your frown

A friend
will gently 
wipe your tears
when you feel low
when you feel down

A friend
when you need them
can be there 
in a moment
They may not live close
or speak everyday
But you know
you can call them
Any time
come what may

A friend
A confidante
words not repeated

A friend
there to listen 
as you bear your soul

When no words are needed
an embrace full of love
fills you with comfort
in their warm loving hug
