Notes About The Poem

Angels In Blue

Angels in Blue
Saints in Green

The hospital is a cold and sterile place.
It is not meant to be…
warm or nice.
It is meant to be a building…
set aside;
to let life win and death,
have no chance at all.

The emergency rooms:
are packed,
now…
all the time.
Coughing,
and gasping can be heard,
not just from the sick,
but by those that attend them…
closely.

Fearlessly nurses, doctors,
and all those involved with care;
move about.
Their dance,
one step ahead of the horseman,
two leaps ahead of tomorrows…
front page news.

What heroes,
shadows of hope…
Smiles offered to strangers,
that can not be comforted by friends,
or family(ies).
All are fearful of the spread,
and more...
the pain and the cost,
of simply being close enough…
to say “goodbye”.

A sad beautiful poem written with a talented pen - a magnificent poem Ann and a great tribute to these heroes and angels as you so rightly say. Blessings my friend, Jennifer.

I am so glad you enjoyed it. Be safe in these crazy times. Jesus watch over you and yours, in his holy name. Angels around all that you love... and care about. Amen. Ann

'one step ahead of the horseman, two steps ahead of tomorrow's...front page news' -- those lines just took my breath away, Ann. As masterfully penned as it is sorrowful. Kudos, Gershon

Ever your kind face, and words that match, make my day a bit brighter in these dark times. God Bless and be safe my friend. Do something fun today, that you have put off. Tomorrow is not promised. Heaven is close. God keep you and yours always close in his hand. In Jesus holy name. Amen. Hugs. Ann
