And the Nightingale Said

I have been around the globe
have seen what many have known.
my wings have taken me to every corner
but life is better for me in this world of my own

I have viewed the chaos
that hampers each and everyone
I have seen the wounds of bitterness
but for me there is peace under the midnight sun

I have heard the ill words
that are spiteful to the young
have smelled the smoke of your wars
but here, I sing joy in songs that I have sung

I too have felt the pain
from the coldness of survival
seen what hatred has left to live in
but I have been accepted since my arrival.

my world is not like yours
a peaceful haven grants me liberty
I value my world that I live within
thus life here for me is better living in unity.
