And So It Goes On

And so it goes on. The tinted sky flies so fast. Birds screeching on Dovers hill while sheep pacifistically graze. The lime green leaves shimmer and wave in a sudden breath of wind. In the lee of the valley small bodies with elongated shadows meander through the surf of long grass. The return of the swallows zip-wiring across endless sky signifies that life continues. The limes, blues and greens pirouette and dance, blurring into a red sun. © 27/5/2014

Nice write, particularly liked the ending's imagery. If the Dover referred to is the one on the coast of England, you might like my piece Call La Manche.

Your poem leaves me breathless David. How I wish you could share this at PFT. There must be a way. I am still trying to find one. My nephew knows about computers and he will be coming to fix it so I can scan soon, so I shall ask him for help. Thank you for this window into your beautiful country.

wow, david, what a gorgeous little description of a scene. I am curious why you call this "light poetry" Maybe we have different definitions for that form.

Dear David, How I want to see the images you created so masterfully on the White Cliffs of Dover. I especially enjoy the thought of swallows "zip-wiring across endless sky." Beautifully written, my friend! Love, Carolyn PS-The Dover Cliffs were featured in the Robin Hood movie with Kevin Costner. How grand they are!
