And So It Begins

And So It Begins


And so it begins...
   bird feeders go up,
as hubby, with grins,
   fills up every cup. :)

Each year starts a war,
   when hubby believes
this time he will bar
   those furry gray thieves.

No matter how he
   finds ways to outwit
this smart enemy...
   he's met with their grit.

Yes, squirrels think hard,
   avoid every block:
they will not be barred;
   his secrets, unlock.

Jump on feeder's roof,
   eat hanging from rim;
so nothing's foolproof...
   which leaves hubby grim! 

And so it begins...
   new year with no wins. :(
