And, It Happened To Me

How could my heartbeats’ ever forget? Those deep verdant, greenish brown, flashing eyes In no way, could I suppress my soft sighs. Twas you, coming in sensuous kismet. Orpheus, reaching his own Eurydice! Your ship arrived, taking me to your sea. I, with joy, ravenous for your sizzling touch. With you, every minute’s not enough! With dark blue and white satin decorations, Awesome colors of your proud and great nation! On its oak boards, potent drinks we imbibed. You wisely understood that I was thine! Our days on earth will one day end. But whilst still here, we were dedicated, By fate, in deep love, humans to procreate. Divinely hugging the moon, my loving mate! 8/3/2022 ~2~

Greetings Eve! Only God knows what will the worthy he ones are. That will be found out on judgment day! Sometimes, like you, I also hope I am reading a poem right. That’s OK! This is a poem about love based on the tale of Orpheus and Eurydice! They were intense lovers who both die. And they were both young. On YouTube there’s a movie called Black Orpheus. It is in Portuguese with subtitles. And moving movie about love and loss! Panagiota XXX

A phenomenal comment, my friend! Thank you for sharing your wisdom about the Greeks and their contribution to poetry. Lol …yes Apollo is right…you really have a handle on this, your knowledge sparkles! I am so bored with my bland vocabulary and will acquaint myself with Calliope. I did love writing this. Hugs to you. Panagiota xx
