And I Love Him So---

He asked her before, but she just wasn’t ready. Youth was still awake in her soul wide and steady. So, he agonized for months hoping she would call, for she had the most beautiful brown eyes after all. He was tall and masculine, she was petite and small. She needed to fly though still had one broken wing, she grew it with grace when she gave back his ring. So she settled out west, but something was missing. One hot Colorado night she started reminiscing about the way he touched her when they were kissing. She longed to hear his voice once again in her ears, and remembered how his words erased all her fears. Two hours of contemplating she picked up the phone, she was trying hard to grow up, but felt so darn alone. As it was ringing she could smell the scent of his cologne. He answered in a half a ring; he must have been waiting. His voice was so soothing and completely serenading. She paused for a moment and said, “hi, it’s just me”. He laughed his laugh and said, “of course it’s you, silly”. He was filled with exhilaration, and nervous was she. Twelve hours passed, and they never even knew that the eventide sunset turned into morn dew. She was late for work, not wanting to say goodbye, and she could hear his voice crack as he began to cry. Two weeks later back home to his arms she did fly. It was a rainy Autumn evening and she was elated, for she was to meet with him as she anticipated. They must have embraced longer than ever before, she finally felt at home with her man to adore. Gratitude washed over him, he was lonely no more. She stepped back and he thought she was agitated, for he knew she too felt the deep love they created. All of a sudden down on one knee she fell with a smile, because proposing to this sweet man was her style. It was her turn to beg him to meet her down the aisle. One yellow rose he held and wore a ring of white gold, she was finally going to be his forever to always hold. October 12, 2002, they married on a rainy Autumn day. Vows were sworn to the Lord, as her daddy gave her away. Sixteen years have passed, and this is what he’d still say… “From the first time I saw her eyes I was in awe. I couldn’t believe all the kindness and love I saw. She was elegant with messy hair, simple and divine, and I knew with her God created the perfect design. I’ll never forget that rainy day when she asked to be mine."
