Ancestral Aroma
ANCESTRAL AROMA
Touching my birthplace, river Holy Ganges flowing in delight.
After sunset, me standing on stream strand watching tranquil twilight.
Before fading, depressed diffused rays infusing vermilion on pellucid sky.
Parrots perched on nests: Framing flowery garland eager egrets flying by..
Intermittent tone of mockingbirds in cadence makes me alert.
Dusk darkens, startling calls of menagerie of jackals suddenly start.
Rhythmic splashing of little brittle restless ripples in continued monotony.
Overwhelmed, enchanted sensing inherited consciousness in harmony.
Frangipani spreading luscious fragrance recalling soul to search past trail.
Gentle zephyr in amazing ambient spreading ancestral aroma to inhale.
