My mom's nurse lost control of her car while backing down my mom's driveway and ended up in the shallow snow and grass leaning to one side on a hill. She had spun the front wheels and was completely stuck. She couldn't open the driver's door as it was up against bushes. This was the situation I found when I came out of my mom's house after the nurse called my cell phone. I suggested she exit on the passenger side. My son drove over and assessed the situation with us. We discussed getting a tow truck. My son had talked to people who operate vehicles in mud out west and suggested a few things.

In snow and mud stuck off the road
On hill—we killed anti-skid mode
Then cleaned your tire tread
And rocked straight ahead
So now you've no need to be towed!

That's good. Hey thanks for all your kind comments. I may have to go way back in your pages to find a poem I have not read yet

Andrea, fortunately yes. I think it was a fairly new car for her, and she got confused. My son lives in the area, and I called him to come over and help. That was fun too. We try to be analytical. We try to make the best of everything.

I'm with you completely Jan. Took the opportunity to visit some of yours. You give us a lot to think about. In this case, we were very lucky. Part of it is about taking the time to analyze the situation and stay relaxed about it. She was very grateful, and I had to thank her for the opportunity she provided to provide her with assistance.

Oh, glad that the unexpected rescue attempt turned successful, it must have been a troublesome situation.. But, hopefully it got resolved with thoughtful solutions and gave a relieving outcome.. A wonderful limerick and I like the way you do storytelling, it's amazingly crafted. Sending many best wishes & light!

You are very kind, and yes it did turn out OK for all of us. No damage and no one hurt physically. It made enough of an impression on me that the limerick came to be. Just a funny turn of events at that moment.

Thanks Tom. We were all very lucky for this to work out the way it did. All the pieces fell into place. Everything is good and I hope you are well. We went to a sale this weekend and picked up a few odds and ends. Plus I spent time with my mom who is about to be 101. It all keeps us busy.

Yes Hilda, we were all shocked given how bad it looked at first. Taking time to reason and think can sometimes get us out of a jam. We also appreciated the opportunity to help someone who felt bad about what happened. Just a funny turn of events that we were no expecting.
