An Open Lotus
He was the first to step into murky waters
Drowning in heavy silt and silence
Surviving so long without falling
He had changed the kindness in him drained
But to his surprise he saw a Lotus rise
Far more beautiful than he could imagine
A respite in the desert of his very existence
Open to the skies of hope and sustenance
He cultivated compassion in those petal curves
Filling his heart with joy and resurrection
Till he stood beautiful again from yesterday’s plight
The Lotus open standing alone, a beautiful sight!
