An Ode To My Lord
Lord. you are my strength...my anchor
in a sea of despair.
When I am drowning and fear
there is no one to help me,
I hear your voice telling me to hold on.
You are the first person I talk to when I wake
and the last at the end of the day.
You are my family, and as such
you forgive my temporary lapse of faith
when I lash out at you when things go awry.
When I am in pain, I remember your suffering
on the cross and I am humbled.
I do not presume to understand why things happen
as they do, I only trust that in your wisdom
there is a reason.
You are hope… you are salvation… you are love
You gave your life for us so that we might be saved
and someday, I hope to meet you face to face
to thank you for this sacrifice
and show you, you did not die in vain.
