An Ode To Age Seven

time to take tumbles,
time to mistakenly make mistakes,
and not worry.

time for tag,
and tagging onto friends,
rightfully running around in circles until you're dizzy.

wondering "why" every second of the day,
why friends favoured fudgesicle over creamsicle,
why you couldn't and grown ups could.

time to be carefree and curious,
and wonder about the little things.
amused by the little things,
and by the simple things in life,
only wishing to stay seven forever.
