An Observation
She knows all she has to do is cry and he's on his knees
Irrepressibly in love, his innocence discernible but obviously riled
A conclusion was within his reach but a diversion cut off his hand
Created by a phantom in wife's clothing with no recognizable face
There was a glimpse of truth revealed for a split second but never seen again
A same but different somewhat familiar situation but excuses change creating doubt
He can't be wrong every time so concessions are made, "yes you are right"
Soothed into his false contentment, seething close to the top but not understood
Circling the woven rug on the floor trying to find that comfortable spot
Pacified and confused, it shows but he can't see it
