Notes About The Poem

An Irish Leprechaun

There was once an elf who learnt how to brew
a full-bodied beer and cook Irish stew.
He mixed them both together
with whisky for good measure.
When BANG went the pot a tantrum he threw!

Brings back memories of Irish Stew cooked by the nuns in school - they kept the Whisky - Now I know why they were always so jolly - I enjoyed you Irish Leprechaun. I was always looking for his legendary' Pot of Gold' under the rainbow when I was a kid. Little did I know the legend was actually about his Stew Pot on the Nuns table...Maria

Hi Maria...thank you for the entertaining comments:) I went to a nuns' kindergarten and they used to give me buttered bread & fried potatoes which smelled and tasted heavenly. Once they got me to wear part of a nun's attire after I got soaked to the skin!! Regards // paul
