An Extra Early Walk
I woke up extra early this morning
to go on my morning walk.
It was early, not extra extra early, just early.
I started my venture down Logic Lane towards
High Street. I was trying to get to the Longwall but
an unprecedented event happened, gum. It was until
this early morning where the sun meets the morning dew
that I stepped on my first piece of gum.
This gum was not any ordinary piece of gum,
it was a chameleon camouflaged between
two beautiful bricks,
awe, the bricks
they’re a masterpiece
how they are laid, presented,
its as if you were watching
a British chef prepare a three-course meal.
The sound,
the sound of your heel
striking the ground of the nice brick path
makes my knees tremble, only longing
to move forward on the path that
many greats have traveled before me,
greats that made their own Logic of
words and language that
has been enjoyed for centuries,
savored just as much as the chameleon stuck
on my shoe
one early, early morning.
