An Evening Stroll
In the cool of eventide
She took a stroll outside
And as she gazed up at the sky
She caught a glimpse of stars on high
And upon one she made a wish
In wonderment and silent bliss
Then she remembered that old lullaby
About those diamonds in the sky --....
"Twinkle twinkle little star
How I wonder what you are".....
She wondered then, if they, so far
Thought that she, too, was a star
But the moon looked on jealously
asking, "Why does no one wish on me"
She thought about it for a while
And told the moon "Just shine and smile
For you have captured many hearts
With the soft light that you impart"
The moon smiled back, with a wink and a glance
And then he asked her, "Shall we dance?"
And in the heavens they waltzed so far
Where she took her place among the stars
