An Epiphany Dawns

Who is the dreamer that dreams ephemera;
a memory may last a lifetime or fades
to fog at the end, or becomes torn pleura,
disrupting sweet morning’s familiar aubade.

Once we were light and grace dancing on moonbeams,
or were we simply macabre cyber dreams
designed for the amusement of the machines
that have encoded our most foolish routines.
